GRWM Friends Over for Dinner

Something I love is having friends and family over. Whether planned or spontaneous, the door is always open! When Martin told me we had some people coming over last night, I quickly got some things together to make a beautiful, simple meal.

I’m a little new to this but I’m finding that the key to entertaining is to be easygoing. It doesn’t have to be perfect. Now that doesn’t mean I don’t rush to clean up a little and make sure we have some sort of plan when it comes to the food - because I do! It means that as long as you’re relaxed, have a positive vibe and something delicious to offer - you’re good. People are there to connect.

For this meal, I choose to make a large cobb salad. What I love about this is that more or less, I could just use what we already had in our fridge and throw it together. The guys took care of the main course (steak and scallops + burgers for the kids). I prepped a few things ahead of time (i.e. the bacon and chopping of vegetables), and then right before they came, threw it all together.

Once everyone arrived, the guys started preparing dinner in the kitchen. The kids slowly trickled in from the living room, wanting to be where the action was and help cook. I loved it! We were all in there talking, laughing and cooking - connecting. Which is what this all about.
