What's Been Inspiring Us Lately: Fall 2022
We’re constantly inspired by the things around us… nature, a walk around the city, certain books, music… today, I’m sharing a few things that have been inspiring me.
While I’ll often take a day-trip to Great Falls or the mountains, something I’ve been enjoying is getting away for a weekend trip. Being 1.5 - 2 HR away from the Shenandoah Mountains, I love getting up bright and early to drive in and catch the sunset. I then spend most of the day out on the trails before checking into my cabin for the night. I find that this time out in nature to be incredibly rejuvenating.
I’ve been finding so much inspiration in Kelly Wearstler! Her incredible designs aside, I love how she combines her passion for fashion and interiors in her marketing (whether its a photo on Instagram or Tik Tok). She’s not afraid to be herself and to do her own thing.
Something that I’ve been increasingly curious about lately is (self) discipline. I think for the longest time I had it in my mind as a negative thing, something that would hold me back. But in reality, I’ve found that it is an incredibly life-enhancing tool. Its bringing me closer to my goals, closer to who I want to be - not father away. Its just really interesting! I’ve also observed that when I start to get lax in some areas (show less discipline) it trickles into other areas of my life. You have to be consistent.
Something I love is having friends and family over. Whether planned or spontaneous, the door is always open! When Martin told me we had some people coming over last night, I quickly got some things together to make a beautiful, simple meal.
