My Go-To Green Juice
While I have been fascinated with juicing, it wasn’t until this past year when I finally purchased my first juicer! It has since become one of our most-used “appliances” in our home, as we make a juice at least once a week. Not only is it easy to do, but its a simple way to provide my body with the nutrients that it needs.
Since the purchase of our juicer, I’ve had friends and family ask about the difference between a juice and smoothie - in terms of benefits. I don’t pretend to be an expert but some of the benefits to juicing include: quicker absorption of nutrients and minerals; better digestion; decreased risk of disease; and better heart health. It also gives your liver a break! There are such a variety of juice recipes out there but I continually come back to this one, which has become my go-to. It includes a variety of ingredients (i.e. chard, citrus and ginger) that are packed with minerals and nutrients. Whenever I drink this, I can literally feel it fueling and nourishing my body. Enjoy!
1 bunch chard
2 green apples, chopped
2 oranges, chopped
3 sticks celery
1 lemon
Ginger
Place all ingredients (minus the lemon) in the blender.
Squeeze lemon into juice, stir and enjoy! (Best served cold)
Swiss chard is one of THE healthiest vegetables around. Loaded with phytonutrients, antioxidants and flavenoid syringe acid, known to help regulate blood sugar.
Chard is an excellent source of: calcium, copper, iron, magnesium, manganese, potasium, vitamin A, vitamin C, vitamin E, and Vitamin K.
Oranges provide an amazing source of vitamin C. Their scent and flavor is also known to be uplifting.
Ginger has powerful anti-inflammatory and antixodant effects.

Something I love is having friends and family over. Whether planned or spontaneous, the door is always open! When Martin told me we had some people coming over last night, I quickly got some things together to make a beautiful, simple meal.
