Summer of 2021
It’s the summer of 2021. Wear the shorts. Eat the ice cream, a double scoop of your favorite flavor, waffle cone. Stop staying, “No, no I can’t” when you want to say, “Yes, yes I can and I will and I’m on my way.” Say yes more. Go to the lake. Or the beach. Be the first to jump in the water. Tell everyone else, “Come in! It’s nice in here!” Be the arbiter and the instigator of joy. Make memories so precise and wonderful that, 20 years from now you’ll say with longing and light in your eyes, “remember that beautiful summer of 2021 when we said yes to life?” F*ck the limitations. Wear the swimsuit. The bikini. The sleeveless dress. Wear whatever you want and wear it boldly. Do one thing everyday that makes you smile. Get inspired. Get sand in places that are inconvenient. Get your hair wet. Open your eyes under the water. Read a book in one day. Shield your eyes from the sunlight and think, “Oh my God, I am free.” It’s the summer of 2021. Make it mean something. Be bold. Bolder than you think you can be. And eat the ice cream. For the love of God, eat the ice cream.

“I feel as if I stepping into a spa,” our client recently remarked. “It’s just so peaceful and elegant.”
We are excited to announce that Making Room for Peace is featured in this month’s issue of Northern Virginia magazine!
Our client’s vary when it comes to their style and budget but one thing that they all have in common… decision fatigue. Whether they come into the project with it or pick up a case of it later on mid-renovation, its our job to come alongside them to help navigate and eliminate as much of it as we can.
One of the things that I loved about working with this particular client is how organized they were, as well as their amazing style! A mix of traditional and modern, with a touch of coastal; it was right up our alley.
Fast-forward to my late twenties, when I started MRFP, where I brought this holistic approach to our business. At the end of the day, I don't just want to create "pretty interiors", I want to design spaces that..
Having bought this home years back, its steeped in memories of days out on the water swimming and fishing; enjoying a meal together in the kitchen; taking a siesta on the sofa. You can bring that same feel to your own home by shopping the look below!
Along with time with family and friends, one of the reasons why we love the holiday season is it’s emphasis on love and giving.
The thing is, everyone has their own definition and idea of what constitutes as “traditional” or “coastal” or “modern". We want to figure out what that means and looks like to you.
Something I love is having friends and family over. Whether planned or spontaneous, the door is always open! When Martin told me we had some people coming over last night, I quickly got some things together to make a beautiful, simple meal.
