Cedar Counseling & Wellness Project Reveal | Office 06

When it comes to any space that we design, we want people to walk in and immediately feel safe and at peace. This is especially true for the counselors offices that we regularly work on but even more so for Cedar Counseling & Wellness. A 3,000 sq. ft. counselors office based in Annapolis, MD this expansive space boasts two waiting areas and seven counselors offices. With such a large space, it could easily feel overwhelming for clients walking through doors, but with our strategic and thoughtful design, we were able to make it into a calming retreat. Today, we are walking you through the design of office 06!

Probably the most “peaceful” out of all the offices, office 06 is certainly a calming retreat. Painted a soft, mossy green, the inside almost blends in with the outside. This office really is the perfect blend of “natural” and “modern” in that there plenty of “soft” elements (i.e. the pottery filled with stems and the basket wall) however they’re paired with some more “masculine” ones (i.e. the black floor lamps, structured sofa, etc.).

The triptych above the sofa was the perfect piece for this room! I love all of the colors and the movement.

With everything being so structured in the room, we thought it okay to install a basket wall above the bookshelf. This adds just the right amount of playfulness, warmth and whimsy.

Some of the natural elements that we choose to bring into office 06 were: shell art on stands, a dried star pod, woven baskets, etc.

For the client’s workspace, we choose a minimal, wood and black metal desk, paired with a gray, linen desk chair. We styled the desk with a linen, bulletin board and a few pieces of art.
