How We're Celebrating Earth Day This Year

I was talking with my husband the other evening about how I feel I tend to flow in a cycle of being really passionate about caring for our planet and then being more resigned. When sustainability is not a general focus of mine it tends to be because I am operating from a place of fear vs. love. Its often during times of stress or uncertainty when I focus all of my resources on me and my family. It’s often me focusing inward instead of outward. It’s often me focusing on me and not others.

I don’t want to say, “oh yeah, I care about sustainability. I care about ‘the lease of these’”. But not do anything.

After the stress of the past couple of years between jobs being up in their air, politics and a global pandemic, I feel as if I am stepping into a beautiful and healthy chapter. A chapter of light, love and giving. I don’t want to hoard all of my resources to myself but give. I don’t want to ignore how my actions affect the greater whole. I don’t want to say, “oh yeah, I care about sustainability. I care about ‘the least of these.’”. But not do anything. So this Earth Day, let’s DO SOMETHING.
