Abundant Life Partners Reveal | Office 01
When Abundant Life Partners reached out to us a few weeks ago about designing a new office I laughed and was like, “Meghan we just designed an office for you?!” We were joking of course as we were thrilled not only with the opportunity of working together again but also just to witness the success of a client’s business that is bringing peace to so many people’s lives. Abundant Life Partners now has three office locations: one on Jamestown road, another in downtown Williamsburg and the third at McLaws circle.
In keeping with the design of the offices that we have designed for ALP in the past, we wanted this one to feel similar: California coastal, fresh and warm. We started work on this project in early October and wrapped up about one month later! The scope of the project included a waiting room and four offices. Today, we are walking you through Office 01!
BEFORE
One of the darker and narrower offices, we played around with furniture configuration for a bit.
One of my favorite things about the offices at McLaws Circle is that there is the perfect little nook by each office door, where we often ended up putting a bookshelf and mirror.
AFTER
Our inspiration for Abundant Life Partner’s Office 01 largely came from the fact that this office was going to be used primarily by children. That being the case it was important that we designed things to be durable! Instead of a lighter-colored sofa we went for a dark gray one in here, along with a light gray chair. Going off of the gray and beige tones in the room, I thought it would then be fun to bring in some mauve, a color which is quite popular right now.
Although this office is quite neutral we kept it interesting with our use of texture throughout the space. As you can see there is a variety of wood, rattan and woven elements which help to create a cozy feel.
By hanging this round black mirror on the wall across from the window, we were able to bounce the natural light back into the room. That along with the floor lamp and table lamp, help provide just enough lighting. (We try our best to avoid using overhead fluorescents!)
One of our favorite things to do in a large office space is to incorporate wall hangings! The scale and color always adds a great impact. This one here really led us to bringing in the blush tones that you see throughout the space.
